1. Public Domain & Open Access Dedication
Artworks indexed and displayed on PublicArk are sourced from partner cultural institutions under open access policies, Creative Commons Zero (CC0), or public domain designations.
You are free to view, download, study, remix, and share public domain artwork reproductions for educational, personal, cultural, and commercial projects without copyright restrictions.
2. Institutional Attribution & Accuracy
PublicArk aggregates visual metadata directly from institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cleveland Museum of Art, Rijksmuseum, and Harvard Art Museums.
While we strive for high-fidelity museum records, metadata (dates, attributions, physical dimensions) is subject to ongoing curatorial updates by the originating archives.
3. User Conduct & Curation
When utilizing PublicArk curation features (collections, moodboards, custom exhibition stories):
- Do not abuse automated APIs or attempt denial of service against the platform.
- Do not publish abusive, unlawful, or infringing content in board titles or descriptions.
- Respect the open-source spirit and community guidelines of the project.
4. Disclaimer & Limitations
PublicArk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime and performance on Cloudflare global edge infrastructure, but assume no liability for service interruptions.
