Probably Bertha Stenge (1891-1957; born Bertha Sheramsky; also Bertha Sheram), Chicago, by 1957 [according to Betty Taylor, "The Woman who made "The Bible" Quilt," Chicago Tribune (Apr. 5, 1971): B2]; by descent to her daughter, Prudence Fuchsmann (1918-2007; born Prudence Maxine Stenge; also Mrs. Murray M. Fuchsmann), Chicago, from 1957 [incoming receipt RX2371, Oct. 29, 1957; copy in curatorial object file]; given to the Art Institute of Chicago, 1957.
